Bomb Threats and Manufacturing Bombs in Oklahoma
Under Oklahoma law, manufacturing or detonating bombs and/or making bomb threats are considered acts of terrorism. These acts are considered felonies that can result in very serious penalties.
What is a Bomb?
Bombs under our state’s statute include anything that is incendiary or explosive, such as fireworks, a pipe bomb or a Molotov cocktail.
Bomb Threats
Threatening to use a bomb, even if the threat is empty, is punishable by a minimum of three years in jail.
Manufacturing
If you build a bomb or incendiary device with the intent to cause harm or even transport the components to do so, you could be charged with a felony.
Penalties
The specific penalties for bomb-related offenses vary depending on the degree of the damage caused (if any) as well as whether or not anyone was injured or killed. If injuries occurred, you could face a minimum of seven years in jail; if anyone was killed, you could face life in prison.
